I love your program! Just had a meeting with the vice-head...where I pitched your excellent software as a way to gather data for both, assessment and ePortfolio purposes. As a result, I am piloting now a project that uses LessonPlanner as the main means to do just that.
I started out using the software to help myself get more organized in my own courses but then immediately saw the potential to tailor this beautiful application into a data-gathering platform...
The resources screen is one of those elements that really distinguishes your software from other solutions...I am pioneering things such as podcasting and ePortfolios. LP is simply the best "container" to gather all information...in one central place: I use it to not only store my material used in class (quizzes, in-class assignments, articles, BBC-links/reports, etc) but also podcasts of each of the courses. So basically I have a recording of EACH class I am teaching that includes the lecture combined with the slides that move in the podcast recording just as the students see it in class. With absolutely no effort on my side!
So now it is possible for me to go back into a previous semester (I started out to record all my lectures a year ago in a pilot-project for podcasting) and with one short click find all the resources including my podcasts for that killer-class that worked so well on 5 October. Beautiful. I hope, that will convince others as well.
Thanks for providing a great piece of software!

Being a new teacher I was told that being organised is the first priority to getting things right in the classroom. Once you are organised you can start to teach properly! This is drummed into us at university whilst training. One of our assignments at university is to create our own lesson plans, templates and all.
I created what I thought was a good template using a word processing document. I started to use the template to produce my lessons but soon found that it was hard work storing them in an organised fashion, I thought there had to be something better out there to create lesson plans. This is when I stumbled upon Lesson Planner on the Internet. I downloaded a free trial version of Lesson Planner and started using it straight away. I found that it was easy to use and storing all the lessons in one place was great as I could easily find one in seconds. I can see all of my plans in a list and go to a particular lesson in one click. The fact that I can copy and paste between lessons also saves me masses of time.
I wish I had found Lesson Planner a lot sooner; it has been well worth the cost as it has saved me masses of time allowing me to teach.
I have been teaching English for 3 years to secondary school pupils and have often struggled to organise my lesson plans and all the lesson resources I use on the interactive white board. I have created many worksheets using Word, AppleWorks and Powerpoint as well as writing frames using AppleWorks. All of these resources are stored in different folders on my laptop.
With Lesson Planner, I am able to organise my resources with reference to specific lesson plans. With any topic I am able to save links to worksheets, internet sites, and PowerPoint presentations on the 'Resources' page in Lesson Planner. This saves me an unbelievable amount of time that I used to spend searching through folders on my laptop to find all of the resources I needed for each lesson. Now all of my resources are grouped together on a lesson-by-lesson basis and are immediately accessible with a double click.
Lesson Planner enables me to show my head of department and OFSTED inspectors a full range of professional lesson plans and organised digital documents which I have spent a substantial amount of time creating. I am currently in the process of writing lesson plans for Key Stage 3 English and saving links to my resources.
In short, Lesson Planner is a fantastic product that no teacher, no matter how experienced, can do without. It has already saved me countless hours of time and has made me a lot more organised!
