Step 1 - Install FileMaker Go
 

Before trying to sync Lesson Planner Mobile between Mac, PC and iPad you will need the following:

- an installed copy of FileMaker Go 12 for iPad

Ideally, on your iPad, download and install FileMaker Go 12 first by clicking the app store button below...

Alternatively, you can use iTunes on your Mac or PC to download FileMaker Go 12 for iPad then install on your iPad via a sync with iTunes and your iPad.

Step 2 - Locate The Data File

Locate the Lesson Planner Mobile Folder on your Mac or PC.

Inside the folder locate the data file LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12

NOTE: depending on your system settings the .fmp12 extension may or may not be displayed and the file name may just be shown as LessonPlannerMobile

This file stores all your lesson plan data and is going to be the file that is required to sync between Mac, PC and iPad.

It's a good idea to make a baackup of this file before copying between devices, just in case anything goes wrong with the file transfer.

Step 3 - Connect Your iPad
 

Connect your iPad to your Mac or PC. iTunes should automatically open and perform a sync.

Once synced, click on your iPad in iTunes and then click the Apps option at the top of the iTunes screen.

In the File Sharing panel, at the bottom of the screen, click on the FileMaker Go app. This will dsplay the Lesson Planner Mobile data file (LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12) if it's installed. If not it will be blank.

Step 4 - Copy From Mac/PC To iPad
 

To transfer the Lesson Planner Mobile data file (LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12) between Mac or PC to iPad, please do the following:

Transfer from Mac or PC to iPad...

Locate the LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12 file on your Mac or PC, as in Step 2 above. Drag and drop the file into the FileMaker Go Documents box in iTunes shown in Step 3 above.

This will copy the file to iTunes. Choose to replace an older file if necessary.

Important:

Now click the Sync button in iTunes to sync your iPad and transfer the file to the iPad ready for use in FileMaker Go 12.

Step 6 - Open The Synced File
 

On your iPad, open FileMaker Go 12 and the transferred LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12 file will be available on the Files screen. Tap to launch.

On your Mac or PC, launch the Lesson Planner Mobile app from inside the Lesson Planner Mobile folder shown in Step 2. The newly transferred LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12 file will be then be opened.

Step 5 - Copy From iPad to Mac/PC
 

To transfer the Lesson Planner Mobile data file (LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12) between iPad and Mac or PC, please do the following:

Transfer from iPad to Mac or PC...

Connect your iPad to your Mac or PC. iTunes should automatically open and perform a sync.

Once synced, click on your iPad in iTunes and then click the Apps option at the top of the iTunes screen.

In the File Sharing panel, at the bottom of the screen, click on the FileMaker Go app. This will display the Lesson Planner Mobile data file (LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12) if it's installed. If not it will be blank.

Drag and drop the LessonPlannerMobile.fmp12 file from the FileMaker Go Documents box to the Lesson Planner Mobile folder shown in Step 2 above.

This will copy the file to your Mac or PC. Choose to replace an older file if necessary.
